Kalaari Capital Partners II, a venture capital fund formed by the founders of IndoUS Venture Partners (IUVP), has raised $150 million to invest in the Indian market.
Kalaari Capital has already made several investments in companies including Hands Free Networks, Lapis, Magzter, Mettl, Simplilearn, Urban Ladder, Vyome and Zivame.
The Bangalore-based firm is to invest in early stage technology-oriented companies in India. The team consists of Vani Kola and Kumar Shiralagi, the continuing managing directors of IUVP, and Rajesh Raju, who has advised investments in over 35 companies such as Snapdeal, VIA, Attero, Microqual, Myntra, Medplus, Vsoft, and Apalya.
Many of these companies have achieved significant scale in the period after investment and are set for successful exits in the coming years.
