With the start of spring, the new season of Job Fairs has begun. Within the European cities, this time we visit the Spanish capital. BETWEEN Technology is one of the companies that join Barcelona Tech Job Fair.
BETWEEN Technology is a multinational consultant created 20 years ago to offer integral services and technological solutions to the clients. Their objective is to lead the market of technology consulting through the experience and commitment of their staff.
They have answered some questions to tell more about the company.
What do you do make your workplace stand out?
We think our staff members, as we used to call our workers, are one of the biggest reasons for our company’s success. That is why we try to make them feel as comfortable as we can in BETWEEN. From the office’s location to the facilities, their working equipment and environment. For example, in every office, we have some screens that will continuously show the running campaign we have at the moment, in this way the betweeners will have the chance to identify with the brand in a closer way.
Do you have office rituals? Like meetings held every morning, social breakfasts or others?
We have some office rituals like our “Welcome Breakfast” for new employees and our “Between Nights” where the staff of all the regions gather in a party. We also have weekly meetings with our manager to do a follow-up on the tasks we are working on. And every 3 months there will be a meeting with the People department, intended to be a space where you can tell how you are feeling regarding the job role, with your colleagues, to expose any type of problems, etc.
What can a new employee count on in your company? What’s their onboarding like?
There is an onboarding program that covers everything a new employee might need. You have the first meeting with our People department who will give you an Employee Manual where you have all the information about the company, employee benefits, staff data, etc. Then, you will have a meeting with your manager that will let you know what the job is about and what is expected from you. Later, you will have a series of meeting with every department, so you can meet them and know what they do. This is a great way to get to know the whole company and a very explanatory way to have a very first glimpse of what is your new work of place all about.
What’s your company structure? Do you have a hierarchy or prefer a flat model? How big are your teams, if you form any?
The company has a flat structure working on getting to a client-employee structure. Inside this structure, we do have a job board with our CEO, founders and department managers. The size of our teams depend on the department, but they can be from 2 to 10 teammates each.
