What’s the story behind the creation of your company?
One day, founder Ali Niknam, decided that banking could and should be better. He took matters into his own hands and created bunq in 2015. Through hard and relentless work, the Dutch, Fintech start-up became the first company to acquire a banking license in the Netherlands in 35 years!
With bunq you get real-time, mobile banking, instant payments and helpful support 365 days a year. Unsurprisingly, this made bunq a hit in a rather short amount of time (and not just because you can you set up a bank account in a matter of minutes).
Ali describes bunq as a tech-company with a banking license- a game changer in the long line of traditional banks.
And, like other fin-tech companies, bunq is jam-packed with employees from all over the world. With so many nationalities on board, it was a logical step for bunq to reach out to the many expats in the Netherlands.
