Techmeetups Miami presents: CrowdCamp

October is TechMeetups’ Global CrowdCamp month. Make sure you use the hashtags #TechMeetups and #TMUcrowd to make sure your message is heard!

The Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act was signed into law on April 5, 2012. This bill makes it easier for startups and small businesses to raise funds, especially through online crowdfunding.

TechMeetups is partnering up with EarlyShares for TechMeetups’ CrowdCamp event which took place on October 17th, 2012.  EarlyShares.com is educating America about the benefits of Equity Based Crowdfunding, a new alternative route to fund small businesses run by people with brilliant ideas. Together, TechMeetups and EarlyShares will run events in Miami, New York, and Dallas.

What will you get by attending
As someone who is interested in crowdfunding (or potentially an expert in the field) you can meet entrepreneurs, developers, startups and crowdfunding users to discuss the most pressing questions and challenges concerning raising money through online crowdfunding.

Startups and Small Businesses
If you are a startup or small business, we would like to invite you to pitch in front the crowdfunding experts.  Get all the documents in place, this includes your business plan, financial forecasts and a full executive team bio. Do market research. Get all the facts in place in order to have a strong argument as to why people should fund your project. Start to craft your pitch. Present. Email me if you’d like to pitch in front of the experts at aidanna@techmeetups.com.
