Prince William and Kate Middleton visit California to support Tech City

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s short visit to California is filled with a varied programme of events.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will land in the sunshine state on July 8, a few hours after saying goodbye to Canada, and be met by Sir Nigel Sheinwald, Britain’s ambassador to America.

The first engagement of their three-day trip will be a UK Trade and Investment reception featuring technology experts from both sides of the Atlantic who will be meeting to find new ways of creating jobs in America and Britain.

A key aim of the event is to generate support for Tech City, the area around Old Street in east London which is fast becoming a major base for innovative internet firms and software companies.
